Courage

Most international students decide to study abroad for their future. May be you have same reason. Indeed, although you decide that, you are afraid at the of the first day. Don’t worry about that. So did I. At that time, my friends said, “have courage” It is important that you will live in U.S.A, so I also would like to say to you. You must have courage. If you courage, you can earn profits.
First, when you make friends, it is important part. If you can make native friends, your English skill is higher. Also, you leave your country. So if you don’t have friends, you are lonely. Furthermore, you can experience their culture. Last, even if you stay U.S.A, you don’t have enough chance to meet native speaker, so you need native friends.
Second, you don’t afraid everything. In my case, when I arrive in IOWA, I can’t speak to anybody, because I was afraid that native doesn’t understand my speaking, but I couldn’t worry about that, because they are very kind. Even though, you don’t understand their speaking, they explain that easily.

Bring your TOEFL book
I think if you decide to come here, you should bring your TOEFL book. In my case, I didn’t study English before came here, so I was confused study English when I came here. I didn’t study English grammar, reading and writing. Also, I didn’t know vocabulary and I didn’t speak English in my country, so I was very hard to write a paragraph and read an English book. If you bring TOEFL book, certainly it helps you.First, if you bring it, you can prepare to class study. In my case, when I had first class, I couldn’t understand lecture, so I needed to prepare class study before class beginning. But, I didn’t know vocabulary and I couldn’t understand grammar, so I always asked to my sister and found that from dictionary. If you bring it, you can study vocabulary and grammar, and you can understand class study in short time. In addition, you can have confidence to class and you can have an abundant vocabulary. If you memorize vocabulary, you can apply it. Therefore, you can write good essay and you can read books easier than before in class. Also, your all of English ability improve better than when the first time, yon came here. If you can get high score in class, you can go high level class, so you can study higher grade English. Other reason is for your goal. I think your goal is that improve your English ability. If my thinking is right, surely you have to bring TOEFL book before you came here. I think if you study hard TOEFL book, you can realize your goal of English. Also, you can get high score in TOEFL test. If you got high score, you can use your TOEFL score in your country. Then, you can get better job and you can get more big money. Moreover, if you have ability of speak English, you can do many things. If you want to meet American friends, you can make more easily. And, if you have American friends, you can speak English better than before. In addition, you always have confidence while you live in U.S. Actually, I can’t English well, so I am always afraid of speaking English. When I talked to native speaker, I can’t remember grammar and vocabulary. I hope you shouldn’t be in my case. Whatever TOEFL book helps you. I’m a student of high school in Iowa city. I worry about new international students because when I was in here first time, I was too laborious. Therefore, I hope that you are not laborious when you arrive here. I recommend to study English before coming here. If you study hard English before coming, you can easily adapt in here.
English is very important in here and anywhere. Because America is the most powerful country in the world. If you want to study in America, you are supposed to know about basic expressions. For instance, “What time is it?” “I’m looking for ‘Old Capital’, where is it?” and so on. It’ll be helpful to you. When I was coming to Iowa, I lost my way in a airport. At that time, I couldn’t hear everything that they spoke to me. Eventually, I missed my airplane to come Iowa from Cicago. Fortunately, I had been helped the other Korean. This is not just my story, it can also happen to you. Therefore you must study English.

Because if you can not speak and listen, you can not do anything such as buy some good or ask about something that you are curious. As time goes by, definitely you can understand and speak fluently, but first time, to come here, those are very hard to catch yourself. In my case, when I was in here first time, I didn’t understand mostly. It irritated me ,even though you aren’t in America, you can study these by some movie without subtitles, some tapes are composed by only English and memorize those things. Also, writing and reading are important. After you can understand about speck and listen, Writing and reading will be irritating you. When I was in high school before take IIEP classes, I had to write some essay in English class and I usually got poor score. I think writing is the worst part in English.
